Lee Min-ho's 'Gangnam Blues' slated for Christmas release

Looks like Minoz will have to wait longer than predicted for their oppa Lee Min-ho to make his acting comeback as Showbox - the production behind Lee's full-length film debut: Gangnam Blues has published via its submission form to the 2014 Cannes Film Market that they are expecting the film to hit theatres by December 2014. Filming began early April which gives them 6 months left to make movie magic.

I've been a big fan of Min-ho ever since Boys Over Flowers days and though most of his projects are lacking in story (with the exception of the epic City Hunter) I still find myself sitting through, from start to finish, all his major projects thus far. Maybe its the Minoz in me that I enjoy dramas that I may usually not enjoy, just because of his prescence alone. I do believe that he's not just a pretty face and see great acting potential from him, in fact he's shown some great acting in his previous projects, just that he lacks maintaining this. I personally think it's because of time constraints of drama filming that  prevented him to act his best and capture the right emotion for certain scenes. Since movie filming is less stressful, I hope it would allow Min-ho to perform his best and showcase his acting prowess.

Gangnam Blues is an action film directed by well-renowed director Yoo Ha of A Dirty Carnival and A Frozen Flower. It is set in the 1970s during the peak of political corruption  and rapid development of the Gangnam District revolving around two childhood friends who ends up in a cross fire 3 years later as rivals. The upcoming film also stars Kim Rae-Won who plays Min-ho's former-friend-turned-rival.

Meanwhile watch out for Lee Min-ho's collaboration with Taiwanese actress, Bea Hayden for a short web drama special titled One LINE Romance.
